This magnificent Buddhist monastery, erected by Jayavarman VII (12C-13C) to honour his mother, is eminently romantic. The temple benefited from careful restoration, intended to strengthen the edifice without changing its original appearance, in this case, a temple reclaimed by the surrounding jungle.
