The Civic Center Plaza, on the southeastern edge of the city centre, lies in a neighbourhood of wide, straight avenues. Bordered by majestic buildings and dotted with sculptures, this green space extends all the way to the State Capitol Building. Dominating the west side, City Hall (1932) features the Classical motifs of the park: the Doric columns of its concave granite façade frame a large portico with Corinthian columns. South of the Civic Center is the Golden Triangle, home to the best museums.
